A PEOPLE'S FAIR FOR PALESTINE: On February 25, we hope youll join a growing coalition of NYC-based organizers for a day of collective strategizing, creative release, and community-building, held in the Meeting Room at Judson Memorial Church.
This is a crucial moment for the movement to free Palestine. We need all of us. The Peoples Fair for Palestine seeks to affirm our commitment to liberation, which impels us to keep building capacity and to find concrete, strategic reorientations for the long haul. Our continued actions require us to attend to our needs as individual and collective bodies: to grieve, to rise up, to sing, to move, to hold each other, to combat the threat of burnout, and to ask: what's next, and what now?
Cultural workers, creatives, justice and information workers, and anyone striving to build anew are welcomed for an afternoon of invitational performance, ritual, and speakers (4 to 6 PM), bookended by a Peoples Fair with cultural, legal, and justice organizations offering information, support, and invitations for engagement in upcoming actions.
This event is being produced by theater, arts, and culture workers organizing in solidarity with the Freedom Theatre in Jenin, all Palestinian artists and cultural workers under attack, and for Palestinian and collective liberation of all peoples worldwide. This event builds on the recent Astor Place Freedom Theatre solidarity rally, and the Cultural Resistance March on Theater Row and Times Square.
NOTE TO FAMILIES: We are welcoming families and kids to join us for the event. There will be arts activities specifically for children. Language to reflect the ongoing genocide will be part of the performances and speeches
ACCESS NOTES: This venue is fully ADA / wheelchair accessible, and ASL translation will be provided. Mask up in solidarity with at-risk comrades! The event will be livestreamed.
FUNDRAISER: Many groups at the event will have QR codes and ways to donate and support their work directly. We also suggest donations to the following organizations whether you can attend the event or not. Inability to donate will not prevent you from attending in person.
